Man, y'all kinda made me feel bad lmfao. I'm pretty sure that I'm the exact fan base they wanted to buy it, being a 16 yr old teen (tho I've listened to significantly more Travis than Sicko Mode). I thought it was tuff in all honesty and was interested to see what it was like, and so I did. But mainly because I always felt like the regular quarter pounder was too expensive for me, so I had never acc had one before. And, I mean, it was nice to acc get sum cactus jack branded for once... except that there was literally no branding except for the meal being called the cactus jack meal. Not even an "it's LIT" on the box. I can't lie and say I didn't enjoy the meal a lot, especially at the price point as well. Ngl, it's probably really unhealthy, but Mickey D's Sprite slaps with anything, so I took a W in the end. Hehe, only time I'll ever take a W in relation to Cactus Jack... :*(

I think it’s a huge move! At first I thought McDonalds was leaching off of Black culture but then I thought...what does McDonalds have to gain? They ain’t strugglin wit or without Travis so why? I think this was just cause they see somthin special in him. This is is monumental for Travis and deals moving forward. I’m happy for him

I think it’s genius in terms of McDonald’s getting this millennial fan base to pay more attention to them. The price is good, and they’ve got this near superstar dude backing it. I do plan on trying the meal and will be SURE to let you know how it goes.

corgishoe posted a story that summed out how I feel about it - "Nothing like pushing poison to your community when health and nutrition has never been more vital. As long as you get the "bag" it doesn't matter what food options prey on your community". I think the collaboration could have been a cool a good idea - love the 90's vibe of all the merch/collateral - but maybe they could have gone with a new food item that would do some good for everyone getting it. There was an opportunity missed.

I work in branding, and I just don't see a way that it works beyond the surface level. Sure they'll get a spike in sales because there'll be Travis fans that buy the stuff just because it's him...but McD's isn't going to build any lasting loyalty here. Gaining lasting brand success has to start with authenticity, and people are pretty good at sniffing out when a partnership is inauthentic. That's what this feels like. Travis fans will still love Travis, and the gear they dropped is fun in the sense that it's an off-the-wall collab, but I just don't see any of these young people gaining real affinity for McD's after this collab has run its course. There are no aligned values between the two, and I haven't seen anything about McD's making an attempt to go deeper than just a burger and merchandise.

Big fan of Travis Scott...Have held serve so far and not purchased any of the McDonald’s merch. But I do plan to treat my wife and I to the meal this weekend LOL. Let’s go!

I just cannot get into this one. It is probably mostly on the McDonald's side, but I am clearly not their target market. I got a laugh out of the shoes, and most of the other merch seems as much a McDonalds ad as it does Cactus Jack.

I have seen few articles about McDonalds trying to improve their image on nutrition, and even that they were developing their own plant-based burger. It seems like a missed opportunity to tie that in with this collab.

Full disclosure - I switched to eating plant-based back in February, and I have not been to a McDonalds since. I do eat the occasional Impossible Whopper.

I actually like the concept of the celeb "creating" a signature meal as opposed to just simply paying them a ton of money to be in commercials/print ads. Glad to see Micky D's keeping the price point very favorable...that all being outside of breakfast im not super enticed by anything McDonald's offers food wise. Does feel like they missed a golden (pun intended) opportunity to really go all in with the branding on the packaging (box, bag, cup). Only a matter of time before we get the Chance The Rapper Spicey Nuggets from Wendy's or the Kylie Whooper or some shit like that.

Some of the shirts & Accessories were okay, but overall just not into it. Travis Scott collabs in my Opinion are over saturated at this point.

I tried the burger, it was fine. Honestly kind of a good deal. It was a fun excuse to get Happy Meals for the kids.

I agree there’s a problematic element when it comes to promoting nutrition vs junk. Would like to see more celebrities using their influence to push for healthier eating, but that’s also a bigger responsibility we have to own as a society. We need to reckon with how late capitalism often pushes in the other direction toward cheaper, processed, unsustainable.

Travis Scott’s brand has centered so much around coming back to the things we enjoyed (or missed out on) as kids, that this tie-up makes sense. Action figures, theme parks, cereal, and now fast food.

Not much of a fan of his Nike collabs or his music, it’s just not for me imo lol, it’s for the other people that like his stuff. I rather eat much better food out there than a $6 mctravis meal

I think it's dumb as hell but I also think it's great. Ultimately, this is the most accessible cactus jack has EVER been, even if that's because you'll have it in your hand for about 30 seconds before it disappears inside of you. The burger isn't available in the UK as like, a cactus jack branded thing, but I guess that doesn't stop me just....making it myself on the options menu.
