It is a great article and great topic I enjoyed reading. I will also agreed with Stiller that even though fake sneakers are getting good, there is always a telltale sign that differential the fakes from the real. If you happen to interview another top tier marketplace, can you ask them for their view on remote authentication of sneakers? This is something my team and I has been working on. Appreciate it! 🙏🏾

It's gotten to the point that if you miss out on a release and wait more than a couple of weeks to cop from resell, you just can't trust it. And that's a shame. The positive is that it's mostly Nike and Adidas being counterfeited (though definitely not exclusively), so hopefully pushing folks to check out other brands and newer models. I'm definitely interested in the eventual crossover of NFT's and retail sneakers. That will be a gamechanger.

I give it another 3 years max before we really start to see a fusion there. And I think it'll start out as keeping a ledger and then branch into something larger. Either way, it'll be beneficial for the culture. At least it should be.

It was a good article, but I will always be suspicious of shoes being authenticated by consignment shops, fakes are getting better day by day. I personally don't think there is any foolproof way to prove a shoe is authentic unless it comes straight from the retailer.
